Spring Has Sprung! KBF National Championship Is Almost Here.

2017 KBF National Championship

As the weather warms up so does the fishing fever!

We are just days away from the 2017 season kicking off for several of our anglers who qualified for the KBF National Championship (KBFNC).  The KBFNC is currently the largest freshwater kayak bass fishing tournament in the nation and takes place every year at Kentucky Lake and hosted out of Paris, Tennessee.

Up to 500 of the best kayak anglers from around the country will converge on this legendary bass fishery to compete for cash, prizes and supreme bragging rights!  The winner will take home $35,000 cash this year along with thousands of dollars worth in prizes.  It’s a grand event filled with food, entertainment and camaraderie.

Personally, I look forward to attending this event every year and competing for the top spot.  The Mo-Yak Fishing Series is a KBF sanctioned tournament trail.  Our top 10 anglers, based on AOY points, qualify for the KBFNC.  It’s an honor to represent the Mo-Yak Fishing Series and the state of Missouri at the KBFNC this year.  Let’s see if we can bring the trophy back to Missouri!!

Good Luck to the Mo-Yak anglers attending the KBFNC this year!

2017 Mo-Yak Tournament Series

Are you ready?

2017 Mo-Yak Tournament SeriesThe Mo-Yak 2017 tournament series is almost here!  We are only a month away from our first tournament on Stockton Lake.  There has been a lot of buzz online with more and more anglers joining our club and following our series on our social media sites.

It is shaping up to be a great year with lots of new faces joining us on the Mo-Yak trail this year.  Whether you are weekend warrior kayak fisherman or someone who would like to take it a step further (going pro), the Mo-Yak trail is a great place to get started.  With opportunities to punch your ticket to the KBF National Championship and/or the TOC (Tournament of Champions) on renowned Kentucky Lake and Lake Fork.

We have had a lot of questions on how one can join and become part of the Mo-Yak series.  It is very simple!  There are two ways you can join us on the tournament trail.  One, you become a member of the Show Me Kayak Fishing Association and then get discounted tournament entry fees or you can just sign up for the tournament you want to fish as a non-member.  Either way, we welcome all and would love to have you join us this year as we hit some of the best fishing lakes in the country right here in southwest Missouri.

Below, we have posted the links that you will need to get started.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

With Spring right around the corner and the Show Me Kayak Fishing Open Tournament series kicking off here in a couple weeks we thought we would share how one of our board members did out on Table Rock Lake yesterday.  If you have heard that Table Rock Lake fishing is heating up, here’s some proof to back that!

Congratulations to Richy Laughery (one of our board members) on catching this hog yesterday!  If this doesn’t get your heart pounding to get out on the water, I don’t know what will.

Weighing in at 8.5lbs, this is a great way to kick off the kayak fishing season.
